When a tree needs to come down
Removing a tree is a big decision, and it's not always the right answer. We'll take a proper look first and give you honest advice — if pruning or a crown reduction would solve the problem, we'll tell you. Common reasons for removal include:
- Dead, dying or diseased trees that could fail
- Storm-damaged or leaning trees that pose a risk to people or property
- Roots lifting driveways, paths or walls
- Trees that have simply outgrown the space and block light
- Clearing ground for an extension, landscaping or a new driveway
How we remove trees safely
Most gardens in Bournemouth and Poole don't have room to fell a tree in one piece, so we usually dismantle it in sections. Our climbers work their way down the tree, using rigging and controlled lowering to bring each section down gently — away from roofs, fences, greenhouses and borders.
For larger or more awkward trees we can bring in a crane or work from a MEWP (mobile elevating work platform), which lets us remove big sections quickly and safely over buildings and restricted access.
What's included
- A free site visit and clear written quote
- All branches and timber removed from site (or logs left for you, if you'd like them)
- Optional stump grinding so you can use the space straight away
- A full clean-up — we leave every job clean and safe
Protected trees and permissions
Some trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), and trees in a conservation area need six weeks' notice to the council before work. If there's any doubt, we'll help you check with BCP Council before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions
How much does tree removal cost in Bournemouth?
Every tree is different — the price depends on its size, where it stands, how easy it is to access and what's around it. We'll visit, look at the job properly and give you a clear, fixed quote with no surprises.
Will you take all the waste away?
Yes. We remove the branches and timber and leave the site clean and tidy. If you'd like to keep the logs for a wood burner, just let us know.
Can you remove a tree with no access for machinery?
Yes. Most of our removals are done by climbing and dismantling the tree in sections, so we don't need big machines in the garden. For larger trees we can use a crane or MEWP over the house.
